There s a no sheriff in town This week I mix things up a small bit and I am not just talking about Penn State Mississippi and California Yes folks this is the week that I determine to put Texas down at number one I also wave good bye to a couple of ACC teams and finally give a couple teams their well deserved props For starters here is a looking at my top 5 as it stands today hellip Boxes shaded in green represent a team moving up in my ballot Boxes in red represent a team moving downwards in my ranking Why move Texas up a bit over a Florida team that open a can of expletive deleted on the route at Kentucky despite the

act that a number of players were below the weather after a bizarre plane flight Simply put if Texas and Florida met on the theatre today I would give the edge to the Longhorns The primary cause for that is because now there is a query about Florida quarterback Tim Tebow who left the game this weekend with a concussion Alabama hold on to their third ranking while LSU maintains the fourth spot n my ranking And say hellow to Oklahoma who works their way back in to my top five without Sam Bradford Here is the balance of my top 25 from six to 25 Dropped out Miami 2 1 North Carolina 3 1 New additions Iowa 4 0 Houston 3 0 Previous ballots Pre season 1 2 3 Welcome to the Group Iowa was a squad that I had dropped form my top 25 poll after week one rsquo s escape against Northern Iowa Give the Hawkeyes credit for they get done nothing since but win Acirc nbsp against BCS conference teams with two victories coming on the road The Hawkeyes have regained my respect especially after what they did against Penn State Saturday night If you do not think Iowa is a team worthy of a BCS bid you probably are not paying close enough attention Expect Iowa to be in the Big Ten mix all season with that defense I also receive the Houston Cougars to the top 25 I was hesitant to put them on my ballot after they knocked off Oklahoma State in the 2nd week of the season but later a bye week Houston defending their home turf by defeating their second straight opponent make the Big XII Texas Tech Houston has some form to do now with their Conference USA schedule if they need to achieve the position of BCS Buster in my book Get Outta Here Iowa and Houston fill the holes in the top 25 left by the Miami Hurricanes and North Carolina Tar Heels I was riding shot gun in the Miami band wagon in the past couple of weeks but I jumped off by halftime of the Miami Virginia Tech game I had Miami at 15 last week but many people were showing more trust in the revitalized Hurricanes I figured this load of games would tell us a lot about Miami and their place in the national picture Next week Miami hosts Oklahoma and a win would catapult Miami right back in to my top 25 and could put them back in my top 15 We shall hold and see what Miami does after their first release of the season North Carolina drops off my ballot after losing to ACC rival Georgia Tech The ACC is an interesting conference because it seems as though every team is going to knock off the former all year long Is it a deep conference Or is it mediocre Surprise Shockers Let Downs The storm of the week comes from California who was demolished at Oregon 42 3 The golden Bears were being crowned as the top team in the PAC 10 just last week in the wake of USC losing to Washington How did Cal respond to the force of existence the top team out west By laying an egg at Oregon who showed that they may even be a top team in the PAC 10 Oregon has rebounded well after losing the opener and the outrageous actions that followed the game Watch Oregon in the next three weeks against Washington State UCLA and Washington Oregon could enter their back at USC at 6 1 undefeated in the conference The shocker of the week goes to Virginia Tech Entering the 2009 season the Hokies were pegged as the darling in the ACC After losing the season opener to Alabama in a plot that was not as closely as the score would indicate it seemed as though Virginia Tech may not have been as good as people though Saturday was the first opportunity for Virginia Tech to save themselves After a fall from behind victory in the last minute against Nebraska the week before the Hokies blasted Miami who had become the trendy pick in the ACC Virginia Tech appears to get an easy road ahead of them and should march their way to the ACC Championship game The let down of the week has to be Penn State I have been saying it all season long but on Saturday night the country got a risk to see it for themselves The offensive note is a major concern After jumping out to a 10 0 lead in the 1st quarter 7 0 after one offensive play the offensive line broke down and fell victim to an aggressive Iowa defense causing Evan Royster rsquo s effectiveness to be limited and Daryll Clark rsquo s passing inaccurate For a squad that is supposed to win the Big Ten the Nittany Lions showed no ability to adjust and stuff and off the egg over four times Penn State now faces being labeled ldquo over rated rdquo and will have to rebound on the route at Illinois this week On the Radar Miami Minnesota Missouri Wisconsin Releated Posts Kevin buys into the SEC hype in week 3 ballot Devon rsquo s Week 2 Ballot Hates the Big XII Preliminary Preseason Blogpoll Ballot Mid Majors crash Charlie rsquo s Week 1 Blogpoll NittanyWhiteOut Week 3 BlogPoll Top 25 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13
