Is ‘American Idol’ Throwing Pia Toscano Under the Bus?

We’ve still got a Top 8 to cut down before the following ‘American Idol’ is crowned but many fans and critics have shifted their stress to the one contestant who won’t be in the running: Pia Toscano.
After Toscano’s jaw-dropping elimination last week, ‘Idol’ producers have been running damage control, playing down Pia’s perceived standing as a “front-runner” this season and possibly blocking any attempts for a record label to sign Toscano and spend a hit before the season even ends.

Oh, those tricky ‘Idol’ producers, hyping up Lauren Alaina when New York’s own Pia Toscano is truly “the one.” Yes, as Ryan reminded us at the top of the episode, we’ve got three months to go, which means there’s enough of sentence for colossal musical miscalculations, wardrobe disasters and straight-up fatigue but Pia Toscano may simply be the female ‘American Idol’ Nigel is hoping for. 
One of the first things Randy Jackson told the contestants of ‘American Idol’ (Thu. 8PM ET on FOX) was to absolutely never, ever, ever leave their lyrics. So of course that’s exactly what some of them did. There are two avenues available to you when you’re standing on that point and the lyrics vanish from your mind. You can stop completely and get an emotional wreck, as Ashley Sullivan did, or you can simply forge ahead, making up your own language as you go along.

Cyrus will impart unto the Top 11 contestants bits of wisdom such as “Wear boots” and “Profound like a chain smoker,” and then she`ll perform her hit “When I Feel At You” on Wednesday`s results show, according to a press release from Fox.
