DETAILS: AURORA – For the 2nd class in a row, the city’s Fourth of July fireworks will not have office on July 4.

In a memorandum sent last week to City Council members, Mayor Tom Weisner announced this year’s fireworks display would be affected to Friday, July 2. According to Weisner, the act was made because not enough police officers accepted an offering of overtime to go on a Sunday holiday.

They first hit up Sherlock’s Bar for an acoustic show for 94.1 KTFM, then did a win at work show in a mattress store for a radio station contest winner, and wrapped up the day with a concert at Six Flags Fiesta.
